Our Minio Team and their different capacities at Webstock 2023
The Minio Studio team made the most of the 2023 conferences. This time, we’re talking about Webstock, the event where we joined in various capacities – as conference attendees, jury members, moderators, and winners at the gala. So, we invite you to read the impressions and highlights our colleagues learned and experienced at the 2023 Webstock conference.
We will start with Patricia Bălan and Maria Drăgoi, Social Media Executives at Minio and conference participants of Webstock.
1. Tell us one super-awesome thing you learned at the conference, something that changed the way you do things.
Patricia: Having spent much of my time on the Influencer Stage, I realized how many obstacles and challenges they go through every day. Naturally, in the industry, everyone is supposed to know that it’s a full time job to be an influencer, except most of the time we forget that it’s just that, a full time job for them as it is for us day to day. I’ve learned that we need to be patient and understand that they are human too, and they are tired, and they have creative blocks, and most importantly, they need a break too. That’s what happens to us, the same thing, I dare say that from now on I will make sure to give myself a break too.
Maria: I think I’ve become much more aware of how much the first second of any content we send out matters for consumption. This first second is what absolutely every speaker at the Creators Stage talked about, with Alex Cozma (from “Atenție, cad mere!”) applying the principle right before the eyes of the attendees – as he got on stage, he smashed a laptop before saying anything else. The effect could be seen on everyone’s faces, as they were super captivated and ready to receive every information from him now 😊
Next up is Marius Marin, Head of Reputation, who was, for the first time, moderator for the Creators Stage.
2. What were the challenges of moderating the Webstock conference?
Marius: When Cristi Manafu invited me to moderate a session, I didn’t think twice and said YES. Then I also realised that it was the first time I was going to do this at an industry event and the anxiety started to kick in. It quickly passed and I switched to a state of joy especially when I saw that it was a session at the Creators Stage, with cool content creators who promised to be interesting and full of interesting stories. I can’t forget that it was a room packed with people and I was glad so many participants showed up. I wanted all the speakers’ moments to be cohesive, to have no gaps or breaks and I was careful so that each speaker kept to their allotted time and it was all ok. All in all, a super experience that I hope to repeat soon. 😊
The day ended with the Webstock Awards gala, where we were awarded a Bronze in the “Best Integrated Digital Campaigns” category for the Ciuc Radler – #OSăFiePepene campaign. So, we will talk about the winning experience with Ana Bărbulescu, Head of Accounts, and Alexandra Mîrzea, Account Manager.
4. What aspect of the #OSăFiePepene campaign do you think resonated most with the Webstock jury?
Ana: It was an integrated campaign, very much grounded in the GenZ universe, results driven and a bit crazy. It has all the ingredients to stand out, and not just at Webstock.
5. What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt in working on the #OSăFiePepene campaign?
Alexandra: I think that as long as you understand the brand, the concept and the objective of the campaign, everything flows naturally and all the elements tie together. This was also the case for the #OSăFiePepene campaign, the more easily I understood these things, the better chance I had to get the final OK on the materials in a shorter time and thus streamlined the working time. The important thing is to look at all deliverables from the client’s perspective. If you have the final picture, you know exactly how you are managing all the components of the project and the next steps in the project.
So, that’s pretty much how things went at Webstock 2023: with noteworthy and actionable insights, excitement on stage and, most of all, the joy of being recognized for a cool project implemented by our super team and a super cool client. See you next year, Webstock 😊
